Foundations of Effective Adult Correctional Education (Region 3) Workshop Event Details: This training session is designed to empower both newly hired correctional and seasoned educators alike, and bridge the gap by offering insights and strategies tailored to the unique challenges of adult education within correctional facilities. Participants will explore and discuss essential elements of effective instruction in a correctional setting, from understanding the dynamics of correctional environments to implementing adult learning principles and innovative instructional strategies. The presentation will delve into practical approaches for managing diverse classrooms, addressing behavioral challenges, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. Throughout the session, participants will gain valuable insights into adapting to the diverse learning needs of adult learners, utilizing technology in correctional classrooms, and navigating the complexities of building rapport with inmates. The training will also emphasize the importance of ongoing professional development, providing participants with resources and tools to continue enhancing their skills beyond the session. 24 Apr	Webinar - TABE 13/14 and TABE CLAS-E Forms C/D Updates Wednesday, Apr 24, 2024	Webinar - TABE 13/14 and TABE CLAS-E Forms C/D Updates Event Details: Both TABE for Basic Ed and TABE CLAS-E for Adult ESOL are being updated! Updates to TABE 13/14 and TABE CLAS-E will benefit students by improving both assessments to meet the needs as students preparing for today's workforce or preparing to learn English. The updates that both assessments have undergone are based directly on feedback from Teachers, Administrators and Students. This session will provide information related to what the updates are and what will be changing later in 2024 for test times, objectives, and instructional planning. There will also be time for attendees to ask any TABE-related questions.
