From Words to Sentences and Beyond: Common Problems and Fixes

Presentation Date: 5/17/2017 at 3:00pm
Duration: 1 Hour

When writing sentences, students have different types of problems with their structure. They may use sentence fragments, run-on sentences, loose sentences, or choppy sentences. Each problem will have a different “fix”.

A topic sentence, the central idea of a paragraph, is also an important skill for ABE students to develop. Join us as they focus on strategies to improve sentence structure and to create effective topic sentences - an important building block of paragraph development. The IPDAE team will also focus on the development of basic paragraph structure. This webinar will also provide you with numerous activities, lesson plans, and graphic organizers that you can use in your classroom.
