Key ideas and details is a critical component of reading comprehension. Students who are able to locate the main idea and significant details in a reading passage are better able to recall important information and understand the points the writer is attempting to express. This area of reading comprehension is a major domain that is assessed by the TABE 11/12 test at all functioning levels.
