Introduction to Entrepreneurship & Innovation: An entrepreneurial skills integration guide for AGE Teachers (Part 1 & 2)

This two-part webinar series on the integration of entrepreneurial and innovation skills places focus on essential soft skills needed in major industries. Critical thinking, effective communication, problem solving, and teamwork are among the highest reported in-demand soft-skills. Through the integration of unique multi-disciplinary activities into the AGE curriculum, teachers can effectively promote the growth of these skills, while simultaneously engaging them on critical ABE, AHS, and/or ESOL competencies. Part I will focus on defining entrepreneurial skills and innovation in the dynamic and changing workplace. It will address the needs of various industries and professions and explore the importance of these skills in developing our businesses and economy. In Part I, teachers will learn the value of human capital investment and its pivotal role in developing underserved communities by equipping students with the necessary skills to develop and start their own local businesses. Part II is an application guide, in which individual activities and strategies for both ESOL and ABE will be explored. In Part II, teachers will learn to integrate important skills into their classroom activities and promote entrepreneurial learning, the development of critical thinking, and growth of the problem-solving mindset.
